Digg dot com, which you can access via this link, is currently beginning to replace slashdot. Slashdot seems to be too slow to get news 'out there', and often has a number of duplicate articles. This is the new slashdot.

Delicious
This is a very interesting database of links. Delicious (or deli.icio.us) is essentially a collection of favourites which gets updated by a community of users all with different preferences. This results in a large selection of diverse topics which are then rated (by users adding the link to their favourites).
